As a result, the net worth of the wealthiest individuals is frequently subject to fluctuations due to changing market valuations.


According to data gathered in June 2022 from Forbes' real-time Billionaire Index. So with this being said, here are the top10 richest people in the world in 2022. 



1. Elon Musk 


The technology entrepreneur is the CEO and co-founder of Tesla and will be the world's richest man in February 2022. His 17 percent stake in this company is worth approximately $153 billion. 

His net worth is a whopping $215.6 billion, which includes investments in space exploration technologies, $40.3 billion in private assets, and $3.9 billion in cash. 


Tesla shares increased by about 340 percent in 2020, propelling Musk's fortune to the top of the list. Tesla will be included in the S&P 500 list in December 2020, making it the largest company in this category.


He paid $44 billion for the social media network Twitter in April 2022, only to back out of the deal in July.


Twitter will bring an action against the world's wealthiest person in court in October 2022 to hold Musk accountable for the original sale.


Twitter's lawyer, William Savitt, has accused Musk of "attempted sabotage," claiming that "he's doing everything in his power to bring Twitter down."



2. Bernard Arnault


Bernard Arnault's net worth is an impressive $139.1 billion, ranking him second on the list of the world's richest people in 2022. He owns 97.5 percent of Christian Dior, which is valued at $126 billion.


 His other assets include a $24.4 billion public asset in Moelis & Company equity, an undisclosed stake in Hermes equity, and $10.9 billion in cash. He is the chairman and CEO of LVMH, the world's largest luxury goods corporation.


The 73-year-old French billionaire is in charge of 70 of the world's most famous fashion and beauty brands, including Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co., and Sephora.


Arnault was born into a wealthy family that ran a successful construction business.



3. Jeff Bezos 


Jeff Bezos, the founder and executive chairman of Amazon, ranks third on the list with a net worth of $133.4 billion. He owns a 10% stake in Amazon, which is worth $153 billion. 


Bezos owns several New York City apartments, homes in Washington, California, and Washington DC, as well as a ranch in Texas that serves as the private base for his company Blue Origin, which will ferry tourists into space in 2021.


His other assets include a private company stake in Blue Origin worth $9.15 billion, a $250 million private asset in The Washington Post, and $15.6 billion in cash. During the Covid-19 pandemic, demand for online shopping increased, resulting in a 76 percent increase in Amazon's share price.



4. Bill Gates

6. Gautam Adani


Gautam Adani is Asia's and India's second richest man. His net worth is $89.9 billion dollars. Adani's rise coincided with a rise in the shares of his listed group firms and a fall in RIL shares. He even surpassed the world's wealthiest and richest woman, Francoise Bettencourt Meyers, and her family.



7. Mukesh Ambani 


Mukesh Ambani, the most popular Indian entrepreneur, ranks seventh on the list of the world's richest people, with a net worth of $96.6 billion. His 49% stake in Reliance Industries is worth $88.9 billion.


 He, too, has a $410 million private asset in Mumbai residential property. Reliance Industries Chairman and Managing Director, with interests in telecommunications and retail sales. He also serves on the World Economic Forum's board of directors.



8. Larry Ellison 


Larry Ellison, the CT|O, Chair, and Co-founder of Oracle ranks eighth on the list of the world's richest people in 2022. He is worth $94.6 billion, and his 40 percent ownership stake in Oracle is worth $63.3 billion. His other assets include $13.1 billion in publicly traded Tesla stock and $17.3 billion in cash and real estate investments.



9. Larry Page


Larry Page, Alphabet's Board member, and co-founder has secured the ninth spot on the list of the richest people in 2022. His net worth is estimated to be $120 billion, and his 6% stake in Alphabet is valued at $105.7 billion. 


Among his other assets is $14.6 billion in cash. In 2021, Google's stock rose by around 50%, propelling Page to the billionaire list. Larry was also an early investor in Planetary Resources, a space exploration, and asteroid mining company.



10. Sergey Brin 


Sergey Brin, with a net worth of $91.4 billion, ranks tenth on the list of the richest people in 2022. Alphabet's Board member and co-founder is a California-based technology entrepreneur. His 6 percent stake in Alphabet is valued at $100.5 billion. 


He, too, has a cash asset of $14.7 billion. Sergey Brin was born in Russia and moved to the United States with his family when he was six years old, co-founding Google with Larry Page in 1998.
